Jeff Maysh is a British/American non-fiction writer based in Los Angeles, from where he writes about true crimes for a range of publications including The Atlantic, the BBC News Magazine, and the Daily Beast. His subjects have included bank robbers, spies, wrestlers, undercover cops, fake cheerleaders, pornographers, and candy smugglers. Jeff was educated in England and began his journalistic career on the men’s magazine Loaded. He started writing longform narrative non-fiction in 2013 with “The Half-Time Hero,” an 8,000-word story that readers of Longform.org voted their ‘all-time favorite’ soccer article. Jeff’s Amazon best-selling eBook “The Spy With No Name,” is also a major motion picture in development at Fox Searchlight. In 2018, a ‘bidding war’ for the film rights to his article about a corrupted McDonald’s competition resulted in “one of the most lucrative rights deals for a single article,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. He is a lifelong supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
