Olivia Crellin is a BBC staff reporter and documentary filmmaker specialising in foreign reporting: she’s reported from Kenya to Kyrgyzstan, Chile to California, Syria to Brazil. She has a particular interest in stories about gender, sexuality, mental health and migration. Before the BBC, Olivia was a freelance journalist primarily in the USA and Latin America working for outlets including, The Guardian, NPR, AJ+, VICE News, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, and The Economist among others. She’s also the founder of social enterprise PressPad, a host-mentoring platform for journalists to encourage diversity within the industry.
