Rosie Blau is editor of 1843 magazine, The Economist’s bi-monthly cultural magazine.  Before that she was China correspondent for The Economist, having joined the paper in 2011 as a reporter on the Britain section, where she covered energy, transport and other areas.  She previously worked at the Financial Times where her jobs included books editor and leader writer. She served as a judge for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2010.
